Truly loved

He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” Luke 21:2-4 The signifgance of today's Gospel is this is not a parabale but is actually Jesus looking into the heart of the woman and knowing everything about her. To this day Jesus does the same thing with us, he knows are intwntions before we even begin to move. He knows in your heart whether you are giving from your surplus or from your poverty. When you give out of your love of giving we are giving back to God what he has given us and he will in turn give us more. We can never out do God in generosity. Trust in God with your prayer and your actions and God will guide you to what he has provided you. Never think that the small things you do for someone go unnoticed, God knows what was done out of love rather than what was done out of jest. "Lex credendi, lex orandi, lex vi

King of the Universe,

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Luke 23:42 Today is The Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. When picturing all parts of the Bible and the stories of Jesus I can only think of what Stephanie sees, which is called the beatific vision; seeing as what the Saints see. She has all knowledge of all of Christ's teaching and no longer has any questions. I on the other hand look to her for guidance in understanding everything God has taught me up to this point. So Jesus is hanging on the Cross between two criminals being mocked by them and all that passed by. The line that I get stuck on is the last line of today's Gospel, 'He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”' The only way that he will be able to be with him today is if there is no realization of time or space in the world to come. Jesus was placed in the tomb for three days, how could St. Dismis be with him in paradise today if

Be strong in your faith

The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” Luke 18:39 In today's society we are often told to be quiet, God can not and will not answer your prayers, it doesn't work like that anymore. In response we are to act as Bartimeaous and cry louder, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me". Jesus will not come to you unless you ask, as we are sinners, we are blind and can not see the path as well as we should. We should be asking Jesus every morning, "Lord, please let me see." Please let me see the man who needs help with his job. Please let me see the woman struggling with her children. Please let me see that boy struggling with his friends. Please let me see that girl struggling with depression. Open your eyes and pray to see as Jesus sees with the eyes of mercy, patience, love and charity. Just as then it will happen today, Jesus will ignore the crowd and he will heal you

How will you respond

He summoned him and said, ‘What is this I hear about you?'  Luke 16:2 Are you ready to answer this question if God came to you and asked?  This parable is about the steward who was over charging the master's debtors to put more money in his own pocket.   He was not being honest in his work towards his master.  Jesus will come to you and ask you to make account for everything you have done, and the question is have you been honest with all your dealings?  Only you are able to answer the question regarding the account of your life and like it or not you will be kept honest.  Be aware God knows all and God sees all so in the end you will not be able to hid anything from our God who is all knowing.  It is interesting thinking about this parable that instead of dismissing him immediately he gave him time, Jesus knew in the heart of the steward was a kindness that the steward would do what is right in the eyes of the master.  In turn Jesus is letting us know we have an opportunity t
